The client had an existing assembly line for medical devices running without automated visual control. Manual inspection at the end of the line produced inconsistent results and was labour-intensive. The client was not looking for a completely new system, but for a targeted solution that could be integrated into the existing line — with minimal downtime and within a limited budget.
Simac Masic designed a custom vision integration solution. Following a thorough analysis of the production process — speed, product geometry, inspection criteria and available space — a compact camera system was designed that was integrated directly into the conveyor belt. Proprietary AI algorithms were trained on defect images from the client, enabling the system to reliably recognise even subtle cosmetic deviations.
